2009年是21世纪的第九个年头，也是中国改革开放三十年后又一个新的开始。三十年前的中国，刚刚开启国门的中国人，在令人头晕目眩的西方建筑万花筒面前，不知所措。当时建筑系课堂中的外国建筑史课程，几乎是建筑系学生学习、借鉴外国建筑作品与思想的最重要的窗口。此后，从事建筑教学、研究与设计的中国学者和学子纷纷走出国门，亲历西方现当代建筑的发展。
