Extreme Grain-Based Cropping Systems: When Herbicide-Free Weed Management Meets Conservation Tillage in Northern Climates
Blade roller fl exible crop production syste low-input cropping system
2015/12/23
The challenges associated with the adoption of conservation tillage and/or low-input cropping systems, whether organic or
herbicide-free, across Canada are shaped by scale, environment, and local pra...
Plant genetic resources collecting, maintenance, evaluation, preservation and research of their varibility are among the hotspots of recent plant sciences. Nevertheless, most of the work in this are...
Vitis vinifera ssp. sylvestris (Gmeli) Hegi populations in Southern Portugal: assessing the genetic diversity for its future management and conservation
genetic diversity management and conservation nuclear and chloroplastidial microsatellites Vitis vinifera ssp. sylvestris
2014/3/10
A survey of Vitis vinifera ssp. sylvestris (Gmeli) Hegi in Portugal has revealed the existence of wildvine populations that occur only in riparian wood habitats on river margins, as is the case for ot...

Two projects: Conservation and use of genetic resources of non-traditional crops, related wild species and wild species for food and agriculture; and Characterization and evaluation of diversity of wh...
Possibilities and reality of on-farm conservation
conservation in situ landraces on-farm plant genetic resources
2014/3/10
Conservation of crops is based on ex situ collection into gene banks. Additionally, crop’s wild relatives can be conserved in situ, and landraces and obsolete cultivars also can be conserved using the...
Conservation Tillage – An Eco Friendly Management Practices for Agriculture
Conservation tillage Bulk density Soil aggregation Weed control Yield
2010/11/15
Conservation tillage decreases soil erosion almost in direct proportion to the amount of soil
cover and it reduces soil losses but does not always reduce the volume of runoff as effectively as it red...
Non-chemical weed control in sugar beet crop under intensive and conservation soil tillage: I. Crop weediness
non-chemical weed control intensive and conservation soil tillage sugar beet crop mulch weeds
2010/1/19
According to the results of investigations, in conditions of intensive soil tillage the highest choking of weeds was observed by annual ryegrass (ARM) and white mustard (WMM) living
mulches. In suga...
Weed Control as Affected by Pendimethalin Timing and Application Method in Conservation Tillage Cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.)
Weed Control Pendimethalin Timing Application Method
2009/4/30
Field studies were conducted in 2004, 2005, and 2006 to evaluate weed control with pendimethalin preemergence applied in conservation tillage cotton. Pendimethalin was applied at eight weeks before pl...

Cotton Wild Radish Cutleaf Eveningprimrose
2008/5/19
Cutleaf eveningprimrose and wild radish are problematic winter annual weeds in cotton conservation tillage systems. Neither weed is adequately controlled by glyphosate nor paraquat applied alone, so c...
